Wilderness lodge transportation

The lodge is remote. Getting there should feel organized.

Kingfisher coordinates floatplane transportation from Kodiak City for lodge guests, baggage and lodge schedules.

Before you contact Kingfisher

Most lodge flights are arranged through the lodge.

For Quartz Creek Lodge, Olga Creek Lodge and Zachar Bay’s summer season, transportation is coordinated with the lodge and the cost is covered through the lodge arrangements. Make the lodge reservation first and follow the instructions it provides.

With 800-, 1,200-, 1,600- and 2,000-pound load options, we can move groups of up to 10 people depending on passenger size and gear. The Bush Hawk typically carries two or three guests with gear, while the Beaver typically carries four or five guests with gear.

Guest expectations

Pack to move, and leave room for Kodiak weather.

Before arrival

Give the lodge accurate passenger weights, cell numbers and baggage details. Ask before bringing coolers, rigid totes, long cases or unusually bulky items.

At Kingfisher

Arrive at the time provided by the lodge, with bags closed, labeled and ready to weigh and load. Final aircraft assignments depend on the complete group and load.

On departure day

Weather and earlier flights can change timing. Do not schedule a tight airline connection after a lodge pickup; a night in Kodiak provides valuable margin.
