Public-use cabin transportation

Reserve the cabin. Then build the flight around the load.

Floatplane transportation from Kodiak to remote cabins operated by the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge and Alaska State Parks.

Important order of operations

Cabin first. Floatplane second.

Reserve your public-use cabin with the managing agency before confirming transportation. Then send us the cabin name, check-in and check-out dates, every passenger’s weight, and a realistic description of all food and gear.

A cabin reservation does not guarantee that flying conditions, water conditions or aircraft capacity will support the requested schedule. Keep weather flexibility on both ends.

How to schedule

Four decisions, in the right order.

  1. 01

    Choose and reserve a cabin

Use Recreation.gov for Refuge cabins or ReserveAmerica for Alaska State Parks cabins.

  2. 02

    Build your complete load

Count passengers, food, stove fuel, sleeping gear, watercraft, motors and everything else that must fly.

  3. 03

    Request transportation

Use the builder below. We review access, aircraft and likely number of loads before giving a quote.

  4. 04

    Protect the travel days

Plan time in Kodiak for weather. Freshwater breakup and freeze-up can change cabin access even when the cabin is reservable.

Public-use cabin directory

Start with an official cabin listing.

Agency pages control availability, cabin rules and reservation details. Select a marker or cabin below before submitting a flight request.

Map locations are for trip planning, not navigation. North Frazer Lake remains in the directory and will be mapped from the verified destination record in the app.

Instant trip estimate

Price the load, then send a flight request.

The secure app form uses the destination, flight time and current charter load-class rates. Your request remains pending until Kingfisher reviews the load, access and requested dates.

Cabin transportation

Start with your destination and complete load.

Select a cabin on the map or directory to prefill it, or open the form and choose there. The estimate is not an automatic flight confirmation and does not place anything on the schedule.

Equipment & packing

A public-use cabin is not a stocked lodge.

Review the agency listing for the exact bunks, stove, water source and amenities. Most remote cabins require you to bring sleeping gear, food, a safe water-treatment plan, lighting and the correct stove fuel. Pack in soft, compact bags whenever possible.

Tell us about

  • Rafts, kayaks, motors and fuel
  • Coolers, rigid totes and long items
  • Stove fuel and other regulated materials
  • Any unusually dense or fragile freight
