Floatplane flying through the Alaska landscape

Floatplane charters from Kodiak

Remote transportation starts with a workable plan.

Lodges, public-use cabins, coastal camps and specialized field missions—matched to the aircraft, load and conditions.

General charter information

Tell us the whole trip, not just the destination.

Kingfisher operates a DeHavilland Beaver and Found Bush Hawk from Kodiak City. We offer point-to-point pricing for many common destinations and hourly charter pricing for routes or missions that need a custom plan.

Passenger weights, baggage weight and volume, destination, water conditions and the number of required loads determine the aircraft and final quote. Accurate information at the beginning makes the trip easier for everyone.

How it works

From first request to the dock.

  1. 01

    Send the trip details

Destination, dates, passenger names and weights, plus a complete description of baggage, freight and unusual items.

  2. 02

    We build the load plan

We select the practical aircraft and determine whether the trip requires one flight or multiple loads.

  3. 03

    Confirm timing

Your planned time may move with weather, water, tides and earlier flights. Lodge guests follow the schedule coordinated with their lodge.

  4. 04

    Arrive ready to fly

Meet at our Kodiak office with gear packed, labeled and ready for loading. We complete the final weather and loading review before departure.

Timing & access

Kodiak sets the schedule.

Charter times are plans—not promises to the minute. Weather, wind, visibility, tides and lake conditions can require an earlier departure, a delay or a different plan. Keep a weather buffer around both ends of a remote trip and avoid tight same-day airline connections.

Late April

Spring breakup

Freshwater access commonly begins around the last week of April. The actual date changes with the winter and the lake.

October 20

Shallow-lake freeze-up

Begin planning for freeze-up around October 20. Smaller and higher lakes can become unusable sooner.

Always

Pilot approval

The pilot makes the final decision on destination access, loading, timing and whether conditions support the flight.
