Kodiak is the 2nd largest island in the United States, yet has less than 90 miles of road to explore. Outdoor activities abound - countless hiking trails exist and there is fantastic sport fishing along the road system and saltwater fishing from local charter operations. 	Kodiak Island Archipeligo encompasses roughly 5000 square miles, most of which is only accessible by floatplane or boat. Nestled away in this vast wilderness are public use cabins, which are available to rent for up to a week at a time.
